The Alliance Welcomes New Executive Director

Register Here To Become A Donor

October 9, 2012

Aisha M. Tator recently joined the New York Alliance for Donation as the Executive Director, where she is responsible for leading the organization in its mission to increase organ, eye and tissue donation throughout New York State and to ensure every person waiting for a transplant receives one.

Before joining NYAD, Ms. Tator was the State Director of Advocacy and Government Affairs for the New York Chapter of the March of Dimes where she advocated before the state and local governments to adopt public policies, programs and funding to improve the health of moms and babies.  During her tenure with the March of Dimes, Ms. Tator created the Foundation’s first Maternal Child Health Policy Symposium which brought together New York State’s leading advocates to develop a multi-year maternal child health policy agenda.  The important event served as a forum for clinicians, government officials, and consumer advocates to prioritize policy issues and develop strategies for a collaborative effort to improve quality and access to health care services for New York State’s women and children.

Ms. Tator received a graduate degree from University at Albany, State University of New York.  She was selected to participate in a year long post-graduate fellowship with the New York State Senate.  Following her fellowship, she continued to work in the Senate and after two years was elevated to the position to Director of Policy and Administration.

Throughout Ms. Tator’s fourteen year career in government affairs, she has continued to enjoy finding creative ways to solve problems and is passionate about everything she does.
